How Our Wool Rugs Are Made
Our wool rugs start with shearing, which happens twice a year by Gwen Hinman, an itinerant shearer out of Acworth, New Hampshire.
The raw wool is sent to the Vermont Fiber Mill & Studio in Brandon or the Mad River Fiber Mill in Waitsfield to be washed, carded, and spun around a cotton core, resulting in thick and strong rug yarn..
Finally, Nelly Detra of Black Cat Judaica (in Barnet) weaves up rugs in a variety of patterns. (undyed, natural colors; typical size 30” x 48”)

Ornaments
Whimsical, needle-felted ornaments: stars, hearts, and other shapes.
Rug Cleaning & Care
Wool rugs need minimal care. We recommend shaking them out regularly and spot cleaning by hand as needed. One customer reports successfully cleaning a rug by soaking it in cold water, though we haven’t tried that!
